Soloist

Solo Career

The beautiful sound of Meinir's solo playing can be found on Bryn Terfel's album 'We'll Keep a Welcome' and Charlotte Church's 'Voice of an Angel'. Meinir has appeared at many of the country's leading music festivals, including the Chichester Festival, the City of London Festival, Aberfest, the North Devonshire Music Festival and, of course, at the National Eisteddfods of Wales. Meinir's recital of traditional Celtic music at the Lorient International Celtic Festival was so well received that she was inspired to write 'A Celtic Feast' - a collection of arrangements dedicated to Celtic folk music, which were captured on the CD 'Ar Lan y Mor'.

"Thank you so much for playing so beautifully...it is a measure of your total professionalism that your performances were so well received by everyone who had the privilege to attend them."

David Peterson, Lorient Interceltic Festival

Harp Duos

Established in 1977, Meinir and Elinor Bennett's extraordinary harp duos have taken them around the country. Most recently, the pair has undertaken a tour of recitals showcasing the work of Queen Victoria's Royal Harpist, John Thomas. Elinor and Meinir's interpretation of these duos can be heard on 'Serenād' from Sain.

Ensembles

In addition to her work with Katey Thomas on flute and harp duo Cameo Music, Meinir has played as part of the Welsh National Opera Flute, Viola and Harp Trio, which performed at the National Museum of Wales and for the New Radnor Music Club. Meinir has also provided accompaniment for voice at the opening of the new WDA offices at the Chrysler Building in New York, as well as accompanying Charlotte Church at the opening of the National Assembly for Wales.
